Starbucks worker's 'inappropriate' note to customer: 'Never going back'

A "secret message" left by a barista for a woman on her coffee cup has divided TikTok users — some thinking it was sweet while others thought it was unprofessional.

In a video posted to TikTok, the woman showed off her Starbucks mug which had "secret message" written on the side, with an arrow pointing down to the bottom of the cup.

The barista had directed her attention to the caution blurb at the bottom of the cup which reads: "Careful, the beverage you're about to enjoy is extremely hot."

However the barista edited the warning, crossing out some of the words so instead it read: "Careful, you're extremely hot."

"Never going back there," the 20-year-old, who posts on TikTok alongside her twin sister, captioned the video, looking less than impressed in the clip.

TikTok users divided over gesture

Although the woman posting the TikTok declared in the caption she's "never going back" to the Starbucks, many TikTokers thought the move was sweet, praising the barista for "shooting their shot".

"That was smooth, not going to lie," one person admitted with another adding: "That deserves a smile at least".

"It's cute, girls say guys never do anything. He just put his heart out to you," agreed someone else.

Others were wary of the barista's pick up line, commenting on the clip writing: "I'm wondering how many other girls he did that to."

Others questioned the legitimacy of the "secret message".

"I bet she did it herself," one suspicious TikToker theorised with many others agreeing.

"Ain’t no way a guy got a handwriting like that," someone else wrote.

"It's a bit inappropriate," one TikTok user with another adding it's "unprofessional."
