Body found in shallow grave at abandoned Victorian farm baffles police
Victorian police have revealed that a body found on an abandoned farm at Tyabb was buried in a shallow grave but mystery still surrounds the person's identity and how they might have died.
Very little is known about the victim, except that the body was found at approximately 9pm on Sunday night.
Homicide detectives and forensic experts were at the location for most of Monday but have not yet named a suspect.
The body was not removed from the property until late on Monday afternoon and police say they will know more after a post-mortem examination.
It is not known if it was a man or woman who was found, who found the body, or how the person died, although police have taken a particular interest in a glove found on the property's driveway.

Locals say the farm has been abandoned for up to two years and in the meantime it has become an illegal dumping ground.
Despite that, neighbours say they haven't felt unsafe - until now.
"It's a pretty quiet stretch of road," one neighbour said.
Dozens of SES volunteers arrived on Monday to help search the 12-hectare farm.
The area is heavily overgrown with grass and littered with rubbish, so experts believe it may be a long and difficult search for clues to what happened.
