Queensland police warning as missing sex offender 'removes monitoring strap'

Police are warning a known Queensland sex offender may have removed his electronic monitoring strap after going missing.

Queensland Police and Corrective Services officers are currently searching for Damien Kennedy, 28, who is being supervised under the Dangerous Prisoners Sexual Offenders Act 2003.

It’s alleged he’s removed an electronic monitoring strap.

His last known appearance was in Salisbury, Brisbane on Monday about 4.13pm.

Kennedy appeared in the Brisbane District Court on August 15, 2008 in relation to the offences of rape and assault with intent to commit rape.

He is described as 171cm tall, 125kg with a fair complexion, blue eyes, clean shaven with black hair. He has a number of tattoos including "Southside" printed across his neck, “love & hate” written on his right inner forearm, “TROLL” printed on his shoulder, a full sleeve tattoo, an Asian character on his right hand and “RUN A” printed on his right knuckles.

He also has “Muck” printed on his left knuckles along with a number of other tattoos.
