'I felt sick': Woman finds nasty surprise inside her Woolworths salad

A Melbourne woman was left “sick to the stomach” after discovering an unwanted eight-legged creature tucked away in her lunchtime salad.

Brooke Wiramandaden had picked herself up a prepacked salad from Woolworths, unaware of the spider lurking inside.

The Narre Warren woman shared the image to the Woolworths Facebook page, adding that she was pretty close to devouring the brown spider.

“I was eating my lunch at work and I had pretty much eaten the whole thing when I noticed it,” she wrote.

“I wasn’t happy and I felt physically sick.”

Ms Wiramandaden said she showed her horrified colleagues before disposing of the evidence.

A Woolworths spokesperson responded saying they were “very concerned about this”.

Yahoo7 has contacted Woolworths for comment.

“[We] take incidents like this very seriously. For your awareness this has been escalated for immediate investigation.”

Just last month a Queensland mother claimed to have found a large piece of jagged plastic in her Woolworths salad during dinner time with her family.

Deb Larks purchased the Asian salad with crunchy noodles on Tuesday from the Plainland store in Queensland's south east for herself, husband and eldest child to enjoy.

But opening the packet to pour the dressing on, she said she noticed a foreign chunk of plastic with sharp edges.

"I just hope no one has actually swallowed any of this plastic as it was extremely sharp and could cause internal injury," Ms Larks told 7 News Online.

"We didn't eat any of the product and I returned it to the store last night so immediate action could be taken," she said.

A Woolworths spokesperson confirmed they were investigating.
