Couple bashed with baseball bat as daughters hid during Melbourne home invasion

A manhunt is underway for a group of violent home invaders who brutally attacked a husband and wife inside their Dandenong North home.

Police have now released CCTV footage of the group they believe smashed a bedroom window and left the 45-year-old father with a fractured skull.

Pero and Radmila were inside watching television with their three young daughters when the masked intruders launched the violent attack on Sunday evening.

As two of the terrified children hid in a nearby bathroom, Pero attempted to defuse the situation before he was knocked unconscious.

As her injured husband lay motionless on the floor, Radmila picked up the closest thing she could and started swinging at the invaders, shieding her teenage daughter in the process.

The 44-year-old mother said she feared the group was going to kill her young family.

"Investigators believe the group consisted of three males and a female, all perceived to be of African appearance, and all wearing hooded tops and face coverings," Victoria Police said in a statement.
