Paramedics reunited with Geelong infant they saved from cardiac arrest

Paramedics have been reunited with the newborn Geelong baby they saved after she went into cardiac arrest.

When she was six weeks old, Sophie Rowe was sleeping in her cot when she suddenly stopped breathing and lost consciousness.

Her father Rob called triple 0 and was guided through infant CPR.

"I was thinking I might lose our little girl," he told 7 News. "I wanted to save her to survive and stay with us."
Mother Rebecca Rowe was petrified as she stood by watching, waiting for the paramedics to arrive.

"She went floppy in my arms and just stopped breathing," she said. "It was just the worst feeling any mum could go through."

Paramedics Greg Seiz and Rob Trelfall arrived and were able to take over from Rob but the stressful situation was a first for the professionals.

The family was reunited with their saviours on Wednesday, with Mr Trefall saying there was a personal connection to the infant.
