P-plater contacts police after being photographed

A man who was photographed driving at high speed with his feet sticking out of the window has contacted Victoria Police.

The P-plater was seen driving down the Eastern Freeway in Melbourne at around 7am on Monday morning.

A shocked motorist took the photo and said the man was speeding.

He said he put his feet back into the vehicle before he entered the Eastlink tunnel.

Police said yesterday they had identified the owner of the vehicle and they were requesting the driver to turn himself in.

They have confirmed that the man had ‘made contact’ with them but didn’t elaborate on whether he was to be charged.
