WATCH: Two venomous snakes fight to the death in Victoria

Amazing footage has been captured of a fight between a brown snake and a tiger snake in Victoria.

Merrigum-based snake catcher Craig Bergman was called out to Nanneella on Friday night to help remove the snakes. He said the woman who took the video was "fascinated".

"The lady that called me didn’t like them [snakes] but after watching them she was fascinated," he wrote on Facebook.

The footage shows the snakes entangled, with the brown snake completely coiled around the tiger snake.

The tiger snake attempts to break free but the brown snake's hold is too strong. Within seconds the brown snake has his whole mouth wrapped around the head of the tiger snake as he begins to devour it.

Mr Bergman said the snakes were really close in size.

"They were close to being the same size that’s why the brown couldn’t get the tiger all the way down and ended up regurgitating the tiger snake," he said.

Mr Bergman replied to a number of comments on the video on Facebook where people said that a "shovel or 12 gauge will fix them".

"Killing any snake in Australia could cost you up to $20,000 but the biggest problem is a lack of education on our behalf," he said.

"They don’t bite unless provoked by you or your pets, they won’t chase you to bite - they will do more to get away from you than try and bite. Please stop the negative comments it’s not the right way to do things you are definitely entitled to your opinion but not on here."

Mr Bergman said the best thing to do is watch the snake from a distance if you see one and call a snake catcher to remove it.
