Target recalls toddler swing set over injury concerns

Retail giant Target has issued a product recall for a toddler’s swing set sold across Australia, after it found a design defect that could cause a child to become injured.

The national retailer released a safety warning this week advising customers who have either purchased the swing, or whose child has received one as a gift, to stop using the product immediately.

In a statement, the company said a design flaw in the Young Ones My First Swing Set risked the product falling or tipping over and “may cause a serious injury”.

The swing with article number 61531109 was sold at Target Australia and Target Country stores from
September 2018 until days ago.

“We recommend you stop using the product and return the product to a Target or Target Country store as soon as possible, where our team members will provide you with a full refund.

“A receipt is not required to obtain a refund.”

Anyone who requires further information can contact Target’s Customer Support Centre by phone on 1300 753 567 or online.

The warning came just days after Big W issued a product recall for two types of overall and T-shirt sets sold at its stores across Australia, over choking fears.
