'Thought it looked a bit odd': Mum's X-rated food fail

Most mums and dads would admit they have parenting blunders they’d like to forget and Rebecca Brett is no exception after she noticed something wasn’t quite right with her daughters’ lunch.

On a routine trip to the supermarket, the UK mum was faced with the familiar situation of a child begging for something off the shelf.

Rather than risking a major tantrum, she obliged and bought little Ava what she thought was “smiley face” pasta.

It wasn’t until she got home, she realised what she had fed her daughters, aged three and seven-months.

“Wandered down to the market and Ava begged me for some “smiley face” pasta she saw. So I bought it, cooked it for the girls for lunch today,” she wrote on Facebook.

“Thought it looked a bit odd, re-looked at the bag and IT’S ONLY BLOODY PENIS PASTA.

“How could I not even realise even while cooking it?!”

Ms Brett’s hilarious parenting fail quickly went viral, with more than 330,000 people liking it and a further 175,000 sharing it.

“Come on it is very funny you were a busy mum, this is hilarious,” one woman wrote.

“At least the kids think its smiley faces,” another added.

“I’d give you the mum of year award… this is just hysterical… absolutely no harm done in them eating pasta,” another added.
