House Rules: Bathroom bliss

Habitat asked the House Rules teams to share their secrets for four of the best room reveals of the series so far. Victorian couple team Bronik and Corrine had a clear vision for the bathroom of New South Wales father-and-daughter Steve and Tiana.

Bronik said the pair wanted to give Steve and his family “a beautiful modern bathroom with a luxurious bath”.

“The bathroom is a place we feel should be a private getaway where you can wash away your worries,” he said.

Corrine said when they first walked through the house the bathroom was by far the worst room.

“It was dated, had broken tiles, the paint on the ceiling was flaking off and there was mould,” she said.

With one of Steve and Tiana’s House Rules “give us black, white and red all over”, Bronik and Corrine completely transformed the bathroom into a beautiful, functional room which the whole family could enjoy.

Corrine said their favourite element of the end result was the black stone bathtub from Renovation Kingdom.

“We felt the Penny Round tiles that lined either side of the bathroom made it really unique and tied the whole room together,” she said.

“Being a small room we felt we didn’t have to overdo the colour scheme, the black and white tiles were complemented by a nice splash of red.”

The judges had only mutual praise for the room. Ms Moore said the layout was perfect and every part of the room had a sense of luxury, both with the finishes and the sense of space, while Mr Snell liked the layout in the crisp, white space, cabinetry from Renovation Kingdom and the black bath against the concrete tiles.

House Rules airs on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 7.30pm, Thursdays at 8pm and Sundays at 7pm on Seven/GWN7. For more information, visit yahoo7.com.au/houserules.
