A teenager has been charged with driving and drug utensil offences and had his car impounded for 28 days after allegedly evading police yesterday.
A police spokeswoman said police allege a white Nissan Coupe was seen travelling east on Victorsen Parade, Clarkson, about 5pm yesterday and on sighting police continued to drive out of sight turning into Connolly Drive.
"A short time later police located the Nissan on Connolly Drive and again the vehicle accelerated away in an attempt to evade police," the spokeswoman alleged.
Police activated the emergency lights and sirens and the Nissan continued to drive away.
The Nissan was stopped on Geoff Russell Avenue and the driver was arrested by police.
The 19-year-old Currambine man has been charged with Reckless Driving, Fail to stop, No Authority to Drive and Possess smoking utensil and his vehicle has been impounded for 28 days.
He is due to appear in the Joondalup Magistrates Court on Monday 18 August 2014.
