Dancers wow the judges at Statewide competition

There was cause for celebration at Rockingham Calisthenics Club last month as some of its performers represented the city in a Statewide competition.

Club representative Jane Bauld said junior club member Melissa Luke, 13, wowed judges at the WA Calisthenics Association Graceful Championships in Midvale, taking first place in her age group.

Mrs Bauld said coaches Vanessa McAuliffe and Joelle Francis, of the Rockingham and Mandurah clubs respectively, were delighted with the placing.

She said senior performer and coach Madeleine Bauld, 16, and her sister Mackenzie, 11, also put in notable performances.

“This is the club’s sixth year of operation and this year we have grown significantly and now have over 30 members in the club,” Mrs Bauld said.
