Cyclist hit in hit-and-return

A 60-year-old cyclist was involved in what appeared to be a hit and run outside the Esplanade train station this morning.

Just after 6am, a Holden Commodore clipped the male cyclist near the corner of William Street and Mounts Bay Road.

A police spokeswoman said the Commodore drove away from the scene, but returned a short time later.

The cyclist did not require hospitalisation.
