Smith back from injury for Royals

Full-forward Josh Smith has recovered from an ankle injury and will play for East Perth in today's game against Perth at Medibank Stadium.

Smith and West Coast squad member Josh Hill will be welcome additions for the Royals, who have lost their past two matches against West Perth and Subiaco after posting wins in the first three rounds against Peel, Swan Districts and South Fremantle.

Restricted to seven goals in a 100-point loss to the Falcons and to 12 goals when Subiaco beat them by 24 points, East Perth's match committee also recalled Eagles rookie list member Will Maginness, Julian Locantro and Jacob Payne.

Smith won the Bernie Naylor Medal as the league's leading goal kicker last year, booting 63 in qualifying matches and adding eight in the finals.

Perth's chances of beating the Royals received a boost when the versatile Mitch Morton, a Sydney premiership player in 2012, received a reprimand for striking Swan Districts player Aidan Anderson last Sunday.
