Chance to Jam with Johnson in Manjimup

Chance to Jam with Johnson in Manjimup

Music lovers will be treated to a concert next weekend following a harmony singing and bluegrass jam session.

The Dave Johnson Trio will play the Manjimup Hotel's Four Aces Bar from 7pm next Saturday, May 2, to launch Johnson's new album _On A Clear Day _.

Earlier in the day, the trio of Johnson, Phoebe Corke and Kate House will hold a harmony singing workshop, from 2pm-4pm.

The first part of the workshop will focus on bluegrass songs to give people the chance to practise and try melodies in different keys.

The second part will focus on vocals and people who have brought their own instruments can jam.

Songsmith Johnson is proficient on the mandolin and tenor guitar, while Corke is a UK violinist who has performed at Bridgetown and Nannup festivals and House provides backing harmonies.

Early-bird tickets for the Warren Arts Council event are available at www.trybooking.com/131135 or at the Manjimup Visitor Centre.

Admission to the concert is $20 and to the workshop $20 - or a combined ticket is $30 - and tickets at the door for the concert are $25.
