A year spent planning is paying off for Re.Discover founder Andrew Frazer as Bunbury embraces the street art festival this week.

Frazer said the response from the Bunbury community this year was well beyond last year's inaugural event.

"Probably about 20 times more people," he said.

"People are just anticipating it more this year - there are also a lot of people on the streets."

The festival had a staggered start this week, which Frazer said gave people a taste of the festival before all 11 artists got to work yesterday.

"We had two start on Monday, then two on Tuesday," he said.

"So those were sort of a prelude."

The Re.Discover founder said works at Bunbury Regional Art Galleries and Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre had proven the most popular in the early going.

"We've got two guys, Beastman behind BRAG and Kyle Hughes-Odgers at BREC that are attracting a lot of attention in a really positive way," he said.

Perth artist Kyle Hughes-Odgers, who participated last year, praised BREC's cooperation with Re.Disover.

"I like painting big vertical walls and it's quite a new building so for them to be open to this straight away is great," he said.

Hughes-Odgers said the scale of the walls was a big improvement on the first Re.Discover.

"Last year Stormie Mills' was huge but there are a few like that this year," he said.

Free maps of Re.Discover mural locations with information on the artists are available from BRAG and other locations in the CBD.
