Mines Rovers stand alone as the Goldfields Football League's early benchmark after trouncing Kambalda on Sunday to grab a fourth consecutive win to open the season.

The Diorites turned in another impressive display of power running and goalkicking efficiency in an 86-point triumph, 21.9 (135) to 7.7 (49), to go two games clear in the standings.

After a low-key pre-season, Mines Rovers continue to show off a stunning brand of team football highlighted by Ritchie Bourne's best-on-ground effort capped with four goals.

Braylen Indich also bagged four and former West Perth small forward Anthony Saylor emerged with five as the blue-and-whites piled on a match-winning 6.3 to quarter time.

Kambalda managed a solitary behind in the first term on the back of an opposition blitz Eagles coach Justin Tarasinski said he was powerless to stop.

"Mines' run was sublime and just cut us up," he said.

"They're a slick side and will be tough to beat."

Kambalda were coming off a last-second win over Railways eight days earlier, but Matt Hill, Bradden Ryder and Todd Coran were late withdrawals.

The Eagles failed to kick a goal in the first half and the squad's fortunes worsened when Dwayne Graham broke his arm in the last term.

But it was taking little away from Mines Rovers, whose two-game buffer is complemented by a lofty percentage of 178.95.

Diorites player-coach Dion Fleay had prepared for a rugged encounter, but the half-time lead was 50 points.

"I hadn't actually seen Kambalda play in the lead-up and was going off what others had seen and were telling me," he said.

"We were mindful that we could only influence our own game and if you do that, it really goes a long way to shutting down the opposition.

"But I thought it would be a lot closer than it was."

Round 5 results left Railways, Boulder and Kambalda locked on two wins.

But the Eagles, with a lowly percentage of 75.19, slipped to fourth.

Mines Rovers chase a fifth win against Boulder on Saturday.
