Caution urged during local heat wave

With Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s famous summer weather in full force, locals are keeping cool in any way they can.

Sprinklers, water slides, hoses, the Goldfields Oasis Recreation Centre and backyard pools are becoming everyone’s best friends during the hot weather.

While keeping cool, people are still reminded to be safe in the sun, ensuring sunscreen and hats are worn and lots of water is consumed.

The heatwave will continue well into the New Year, with today’s and tomorrow’s maximum temperature forecast at 43C.

Temperatures are expected to reach 39C on Thursday, 34C on Friday, 39C on Saturday and 43C on Sunday. Esperance is much the same, with temperatures reaching 38C today and 37C tomorrow.

Thursday and Friday will be much cooler at 27C and 26C respectively, but temperatures on Saturday and Sunday are expected to be 34C and 35C.
