Convoy in trek to York for tribute

A large convoy of friends paid tribute to a York man killed in a car crash last week.

They gathered in front of Riley Dewar’s former workplace yesterday at WesTrac on Great Eastern Highway before driving to Perth and on to York for the funeral.

Mr Dewar, 22, had lived in Kalgoorlie-Boulder until nine months ago when he returned to York to live near family.

He was the passenger in a Toyota ute which lost control on a right hand bend on Talbot Road near York. He died at the scene while the 20 year-old driver suffered minor injuries.

Former workmate and close friend Daniel Kennedy said people should be extra careful when driving on country roads.
