Local business gets behind Red Nose Day

Local businesses have gathered together to raise money on Red Nose Day.

OfficeMax Kalgoorlie is leading the way running a red nose raffle for the entire month of June to try to raise as much money as possible.

On Red Nose Day, which is Friday, June 29, the store will be revealing the lucky raffle winners every hour throughout the day. OfficeMax Retail Sales Manager Troy McLean said the array of prizes had been donated by members of the community and local businesses across Kalgoorlie-Boulder.

“We have a whole day of giveaways,” he said. “My youngest son has had some health problems so we just wanted to do something for the kids.

“The tickets are only a dollar and that is why we made it that way. Anyone can pretty much scrape together a dollar in change in their purse or wallet.”

The day raises money for the SIDS and Kids charity, which is dedicated to saving the lives of babies and children during pregnancy, birth, infancy and childhood and to supporting bereaved families. The tickets can be bought from the OfficeMax store at 283 Hannan Street.
