Vandals ruin donations dumped at Vinnies shop
Illegally dumped furniture, clothing and toys at Vinnies Retail Centre on Durlacher St was destroyed by vandals over the new year’s break.
Store manager Tania Slater said she was disappointed by the situation, which could have been avoided if the items were donated in the right way.
“This is not what we wanted to see when we arrived to open for our first day in 2013,” she said.
“It’s such a shame, and now our staff and volunteers have to spend the day cleaning up and making an extra trip to the tip instead of emptying collection bins.”
Ms Slater said unfortunately the problem was a regular occurrence and illegal dumping of items resulted in vandalism every three to four months.
