Last River Boy standing

Steve Peacocke is the last River Boy standing in Summer Bay.

The Gold Logie nominee first arrived on Home and Away as Darryl "Brax" Braxton in 2011 and formed the surf gang with his on-screen brothers, played by Dan Ewing and Lincoln Younes.

Ewing's character, Heath, departed the bay for greener pastures earlier this year and Brax also lost youngest brother Casey (Younes) to a much-hyped murder plot this week, leaving the father figure of the family on his own.

Peacocke is just as interested as anyone to see what this means for Brax moving forward but knows the bad boy will be keen to avenge his brother's death.

"It doesn't take much for Brax to get hot under the collar, as the audience knows," Peacocke told AAA.

"He is pretty old school; he is an eye-for-an-eye kind of bloke so he won't let this rest until he gets his revenge. He doesn't care what happens to him - he is a man on a mission now."

With Younes moving on to roles in Love Child and ABC mini-series Hiding, it has been speculated that Peacocke will make his exit from the Seven soap soon too.

However, the actor, who has two Silver Logies to his name, said he didn't waste time considering life after Home and Away.

"I probably should think about things but I don't," Peacocke admitted.

"My whole acting career has been based on something my dad told me, which was to just concentrate on doing good work now and let the future take care of itself. I just sort of float along and enjoy the job. They keep writing good stuff for me and there are always options for me to take time off work like I did last year with (Hollywood movie) Hercules."

The publicity-shy star was the topic of tabloid fodder this week when it was suggested he was cheating on fiancee Bridgette Sneddon with Bonnie Sveen, who plays his on-screen girlfriend.

Peacocke hit out at the rumours, saying the so-called intimate photos were actually taken on set, with the magazine that published them taking to Photoshop to erase his character's tattoos.

The 32-year-old said he and long-time love Sneddon would not let the reports influence their relationship.

"At the end of the day, it doesn't affect me that much because I always just take comfort in the fact that the average Australian is pretty intelligent and sees (the gossip) for what it is," Peacocke said. "We had a bit of a laugh about it."
