An Armadale father-of-two who has not contacted his family or touched his bank accounts for more than a week is missing and feared murdered.

Major crime squad Det-Sen Sgt James Bradley said Malcolm Benjamin Boyd Taylor’s family was extremely worried because it was very unusual for him to not be in touch with his two teenage children or other relatives.

The 37-year-old was last seen around Kenwick and Orange Grove on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 29, after catching a train about midday from the city to the Maddington-Kenwick area.

Police said Mr Taylor was well known in that Kenwick area but would not reveal details about his last known movements and were still trying to confirm what he was wearing that day.

Det-Sen Sgt Bradley said police were treating his disappearance as a suspected homicide.

“It’s very early in the investigations but the circumstances surrounding his disappearance are unusual in the fact that he has had no contact with his family since the 29th of April, he hasn’t accessed bank accounts and… there are other reasons we are treating this as a suspected homicide,” he said. “We are very concerned for his welfare.”

But he said police had no evidence that Mr Taylor had been threatened or feared for his safety in the days leading up to his disappearance.

Mr Taylor lives with friends but is in regular contact with his son, 18, and daughter, 14.

He has brown eyes, an olive complexion and black hair that is shaved at the sides and longer at the back. He is 185cm tall and has a slim build.

Police have appealed for anyone with information about his whereabouts or fate to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
