Three arrested in police pursuit

A police dog has bitten one of three people who ran from a stolen vehicle during a police chase in The Vines last night.

The trio led police on a chase after failing to stop in a stolen Holden Commodore on Wanneroo Road in Wanneroo, about 8.20pm.

The Polair helicopter tracked the car to The Vines where police stopped the stolen car with a stinger, used to deflate the car’s tyres.

After stopping on Ellen Brook Drive, the trio fled into bushland and were followed by a police dog.

Police say one of the people was believed to have been reaching for a weapon while laying down in bushland when the dog, named NAS, bit them on the leg.

The person received medical treatment for a puncture wound.

Police are continuing investigations into the incident which involved a car stolen from an Attadale home on Monday.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
