Handfuls of cash and coins, two treadmills, a blue flashing light and four fitness junkies will be a prominent feature of tomorrow night's fundraiser for chronically ill children.

A new addition to this year's annual Starlight Foundation fundraiser, Walking for a Wish, will see four locals powered by donations walk or run on a treadmill for the entire evening.

Each $3 donation keeps them walking for a minute, $5 makes them run for a minute, $10 results in an incline increase and $20 gives you the power to make a special request.

A blue flashing light will notify event-goers that donations are dwindling and more is needed to keep the two teams of two puffing while they party.

Event organiser Haylie Dowson said the addition was about embracing things that have been stolen from some children, such as the freedom of movement.

"There are lots of children who are confined to wheelchairs or beds and for them, walking is a privilege," Mrs Dowson said.

"We want to remind people that the things we take for granted every day, the basic things in life like walking around, some children don't get to do at all."

More than 350 people have purchased tickets to the event, with many more still available.

A silent auction on the night will offer a variety of items, but as a Fremantle Dockers initiative, it should not be missed by die-hard Dockers fans.

Some items include boots signed by Hayden Ballantyne and Michael Walters, a signed game ball, 2015 jersey and a unique Lego picture.

Tickets are on sale now at Civic Video Kalgoorlie but will also be available at the door of the event, from 6pm at the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Racing Club.
