Fun-filled children's week

Despite the rain, nothing could dampen the enthusiasm and spirits of about 10,000 children and their families who kicked off Children's Week with a fun day at Whiteman Park.

Children big and small enjoyed an array of activities at The Go for 2 & 5 Family Fun Day yesterday.

Blair Smith, 11, said it was great to be able to come out and play. "There's lots of things to do, even in the rain," he said.

Gemma Capper from Meerilinga Young Children's Foundation said children had the right to play, to speak and to be safe to be healthy. "Today is about fun, free activities for families," she said.
