After a swift rise to fame in Hollywood, Margot Robbie is set to return to the place where her career began.

Since starring opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street last year, the 24-year-old has become a darling of the entertainment industry.

Now Robbie will return Down Under to bring a touch of Hollywood glamour to the Melbourne Cup Carnival's Emirates Stakes Day on November 8. It is the same city where the star lived for three years while filming iconic Australian soap Neighbours in her late teens.

"It's been a whirlwind few years and I am just so excited to be coming back to Melbourne for the races," Robbie told an East Coast publication.

The Queensland-raised actress will return to silver screens in March next year appearing alongside Will Smith in dramatic rom-com Focus.

Playing Nicky, a femme fatale con artist, Robbie revealed she loved working alongside 46-year-old Smith.

"You couldn't hope for a better co-star in all your life, he is unbelievable," she said.

Robbie is also set to play Jane Porter alongside Alexander Skarsgard in the new 3-D Tarzan film, to be released in 2016.
