West Coast have started their list culling process, with Jacob Brennan and Ashley Smith the first players to be axed after a disappointing 2014 season.

Brennan and Smith, both 24, were told at separate meetings with Eagles officials in the past 24 hours they were being delisted.

Simon Tunbridge, Blayne Wilson and Adam Carter are the other three uncontracted players potentially in the firing line.

Brennan was West Coast’s first father-son draft pick and played 28 matches for the Eagles.

He was originally drafted with pick No.62 in the 2010 national draft and is the son of dual premiership defender and former Eagles vice-captain Michael Brennan.

West Coast’s patience has also run out with Smith, who made only two AFL appearances this year for a career tally of 45 matches.

The Victorian has spent six years on West Coast’s list after being taken at No.36 in the 2008 national draft and failed to grasp his chances after being switched from defence into the forward line this year.
