Police have released a composite picture of a suspect who grabbed a woman, hit her with a metal pole and stole her handbag in Beldon last month.

A police spokeswoman said the violent robbery on Sunday July 6 took place at 8.40am as the 39-year-old woman walked through Berkshire Park located on Berkshire Drive.

North West Metropolitan District Crime Team officers are seeking the public’s assistance with their investigation into the aggravated armed robbery.

"A man approached the woman from behind before grabbing her, hitting her to the face with a metal pole and stealing her handbag," the police spokeswoman said.

"The man fled on foot."

The suspect is described as being about 18 years of age, approximately 170cm tall, with dark skin, a very slim build and scruffy collar length dark hair.

He was wearing a black t-shirt and faded denim jeans.
