Freeway delays flow from breakdown

It has been a frustrating morning for Perth commuters with two incidents on the Kwinana Freeway wreaking havoc on peak-hour traffic.

Both incidents have been cleared, but bosses should expect some late arrivals as the flow-on effects are still being felt on secondary roads throughout Perth.

About 6am, two cars and a truck were involved in a crash on the Kwinana Freeway northbound, just north of Anketell Road.

The three-vehicle smash closed one lane of traffic and brought the freeway to a standstill back to Mundijong Road by 6.30am.

The crash was eventually cleared about 7.30am.

On the Kwinana Freeway southbound, a truck breakdown closed two lanes of traffic from 6.30am.

It took two hours for a mechanic to reach the truck and move it off the freeway.

By 9am, southbound traffic was still crawling from Hepburn Avenue and motorists were stuck in traffic jams on Vincent Street, Wanneroo Road, Loftus Street, Labouchere Road and Mill Point Road.
