Facebook post predicts disaster
A Dutch man, who appeared to joke about his Malaysian Airlines flight disappearing before boarding a flight, has sparked concerns among his friends.
Cor Pan, from Volendam in Holland’s north, posted a photo of a Malaysian Airlines jet, with a message about his plane disappearing.
The message is understood to translate to “if my plane disappears, this is what it looks like.”
Mr Pan has not posted on his Facebook account since posting the message yesterday.
More than 13,000 Facebook users have shared Mr Pan’s post after speculation he had boarded the ill-fated flight MH17.
Friends joined in on the joke and wished him a safe trip but the messages were soon followed by posts of concern and shock once details of the crash became apparent.
Friends expressed their condolences to the families of the man and his partner, who is also believed to have been on the flight.
“Rest in peace,” a friend posted next to a photo of the couple.
