Police dogs have nabbed an alleged burglar and a car thief in separate incidents overnight.

In the first incident, police were called to a Wembley Avenue address just after 2am after reports people were trying to steal cars.

Police Dog Storm tracked a scent to cars that appeared to have been broken into and were damaged.

Stolen goods were dumped nearby.

A person was founding hiding on the roof of a house in Weaponess Street and was taken into custody.

In the second incident, just after 4am, police Dog Rumble tracked a man in White Gum Valley after reports of a burglary.
