Katsidis keen to start fight early

Aussie boxer Michael Katsidis and his English opponent Graham Earl looked to kick off their rematch two days early in Toowoomba today.

The pair fought a five-round war in London more than seven years ago, which Katsidis won, and were keen to get back at it Toowoomba's Irish Club Hotel today.

"We can go out to the car park now if you want," Katsidis told Earl, who reciprocated by saying he was happy to fight there and then.

How genuine the set-to was is unclear. It wouldn't be the first time two fighters have "come to blows" at a press conference in a bid to drum up publicity and the pictures of the tussle were sent out by promoter Brendon Smith.

There has been plenty of criticism of Friday's fight taking place, with Earl having not fought since 2009. But there is no denying the quality of their meeting two years earlier, as seen below.
