Crash sends bricks through bedroom window

Residents in a Wellard home escaped injury when a car allegedly careered through the front wall of their property this morning and sent limestone blocks flying into their bedroom.

A police spokeswoman said officers were called to the home in Runnymede Gate about 6am.

"It is alleged the driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, careered through the front wall of a property with enough force to dislodge some of the limestone blocks, some of which landed in the front master bedroom of the home," the police spokeswoman said.

"The occupants were fortunate not to have suffered any injury.

"The driver, uninjured, managed to reverse the vehicle and drive away."

WA Police said officers allgedly followed a trail of fluid approximately 200m away and found a red Subaru Liberty sedan with significant front end damage matching debris left at the crash scene.

It is expected a 22-year-old Hillman man be summonsed in the coming days with numerous traffic offences.
