Jockey in Lark Hill fall

UPDATE: Jockey Ryan Hill has suffered fractures to his ribs, vertebrae and scapula after a nasty fall at Lark Hill track work today.

Hill was taken to Rockingham Hospital after a horse he was riding fractured a foreleg and fell, landing on top of him.

Tests and X-rays revealed three or four fractured vertebrae.

Hill also suffered punctured lungs in the incident.

He is scheduled to be transferred to Royal Perth Hospital this afternoon.

“He is undergoing another scan to ascertain that the vertebrae are not causing any pressure prior to moving him to RPH,” RWWA manager of racing industry training Ron Fleming said.
