Batman Ben's a picture of torment
Fans were up in arms when Ben Affleck was named as the latest star to tackle the role of Batman in the upcoming Superman sequel last year.
And seemingly in a bid to prove the Oscar winner is worthy of the role, director Zack Snyder has released a first look at Affleck in the famous black suit via Twitter.
The dark snap shows the actor in full costume beside the Batmobile, dashing talk he would not be able to master the brooding, tormented nature of the caped crusader.
Following in the footsteps of Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney and Christian Bale, Affleck will make his Batman debut opposite Man of Steel's Superman Henry Cavill in the big-budget flick.
The unnamed movie, filming in Detroit, Michigan, is slated for release in May 2016.
