Driver charged over gopher death
A 30-year-old driver has been charged over the death of an elderly man who was allegedly struck while crossing a Willetton road on his gopher.
Antonius Willemsen, 86, died in hospital after he was allegedly hit by a silver Hyundai Getz on Acanthus Road, metres from his home, on April 3.
He received serious injuries and died in Royal Perth Hospital the next day.
A 30-year-old Canning Vale man has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning death and is due to appear in court on May 19.
