Samantha Jade has had to give up her Sydney apartment and move back to Perth to be closer to her mum Jacqueline Gibbs, who is battling cancer.
"Unfortunately, she's not very well. It has been tough," Jade, above, said this week while in Sydney for a concert at Luna Park alongside Rudimental, Empire of the Sun and Miguel.
"I've taken a lot of time off, as in, I'm only here when I need to be to do work.
"It's weird not living here (in Sydney) and living back home but I need to be by her side.
"I'm just asking for people to keep her in their positive thoughts."
The former X Factor winner will commute between Perth and the east coast for her many engagements but will be one of the star guests at one of the biggest events on the WA social calendar next month, Polo in the Valley at Duncraig Stud.
Jade will be a special guest in the exclusive Telethon Adventures marquee alongside Home and Away stars Nic Westaway, Lynne McGranger and Charlie Clausen, Perth My Kitchen Rules contestants Chloe James and Kelly Ramsay, Dancing with the Stars' Carmelo Pizzino, former Packed to the Rafters actor George Houvardas and A Place to Call Home's Aldo Mignone and Abby Earl.
