Perth Wildcats centre Tom Jervis has been cleared to play in Friday’s grudge match against the Adelaide 36ers at Adelaide Arena.

Jervis carried a back injury into last Friday’s win over Townsville and pulled up sore this week.

But he completed training at the WA Basketball Centre today and will travel with the Wildcats to Adelaide tomorrow.

The news is a boost for the Wildcats, who are tuning up for a 28th consecutive finals appearance after securing the top seed last week.

Wildcats coach Trevor Gleeson said bench players Drake U’u and Erik Burdon would be given more minutes on court.

But he doesn’t want to see any drop-off in intensity against a likely finals opponent.

“We still want to play the same way,” Gleeson said.

“When we step across the white line, we want to play that aggressive style of Wildcats basketball.

“We want to play unselfish and that won’t change.

“This gives us a great time to get some minutes into Drake and Erik.

“We started to do that last week, get some quality minutes into them, and hopefully they’ll respond well.”

Adelaide can sew up second spot and home-court advantage for the semifinals if they beat the Wildcats.
