One-match ban for Eagles midfielder

UPDATE: West Coast defender Pat McGinnity has accepted a one-match ban for engaging in rough conduct against Fremantle’s Danyle Pearce.

The incident occurred during the fourth quarter of last week’s pre-season game played at Joondalup.

McGinnity will miss West Coast’s round-one home game against Western Bulldogs on March 23.

Gold Coast’s Timmy Sumner also on Tuesday accepted a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record for engaging in rough conduct against Brisbane’s Tom Rockliff.

St Kilda’s David Armitage will face the AFL Tribunal later on Tuesday after choosing to contest a fine for making reckless contact with an umpire.

Armitage has been fined $2600 for making reckless contact with umpire Andrew Mitchell during the second quarter of last week’s pre-season game against Western Bulldogs at Simonds Stadium.

Hawthorn’s Mitch Hallahan has accepted a $900 sanction for making negligent contact with umpire Troy Pannell during the third quarter of last Friday’s match against North Melbourne in Launceston.
