A 27-year-old Currambine man has been charged after allegedly pretending to be a police officer.

Police claim that on December 22, 2013 the man entered a Northbridge restaurant dressed in plain clothes and told staff he was a policeman.

The man allegedly interviewed several workers at the venue and spent time searching the premises.

The Liquor Enforcement Unit located the man last week and he was charged with impersonating a police officer.

He is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on March 14.
