Stars show support for Jade

A handful of famous faces have reached out to Perth pop starlet Samantha Jade in the wake of news her mother is in hospital battling a mystery illness.

Yesterday, the same day she made her acting debut in the Seven telemovie INXS: Never Tear Us Apart, the Morley-raised singer, right, posted an emotional tweet urging fans to send prayers to her mother Jacquie Gibbs, who she said was "extremely unwell".

Kylie Minogue, who Jade portrays in the two-part special, was quick to lend her support to the burgeoning star with a heartfelt Twitter post.

"Congrats on your acting debut. I'm not in Oz :( but can feel the excitement! More importantly sending love to your Mummy," Minogue wrote.

INXS drummer Jon Farriss tweeted: "@sjademusic thinking of your Mum Samantha x positive vibes x," while fans created the hashtag #prayingforjacquelinegibbs to accompany their messages.

Jade was forced to pull out of a scheduled performance at the Busselton Jetty Swim at late notice on Sunday to be at the side of Gibbs, who was reportedly rushed to hospital at the weekend after being sick for several weeks.

It is unknown whether Jade will still perform at the Quarry on Sunday for a concert benefiting the Make a Difference Foundation. However, organisers said the event would still be going ahead as planned at this point.
