Man dragged by car in CBD

Police are searching for the people involved in an attack in the CBD this week during which a man was dragged beside a car and punched.

Several people were involved in an altercation outside Hungry Jacks on William Street in Perth about 4am on Monday.

"A short time after the groups separated, two offenders returned in a vehicle and yelled abuse and threw bottles at the 20-year-old male victim and his friends," police said.

"The victim ran up to vehicle and grabbed the driver's door, at which time the driver has accelerated away at speed with the victim being dragged next to the vehicle for about 200m, during which the offender punched the victim, trying to make him let go."

The victim managed to let go of the car on St Georges Terrace.

He was taken to Royal Perth Hospital with extensive injuries, including road burns, lacerations to his head, mouth and feet and possible spinal injuries.

Perth Inquiry Group officers are urging witnesses to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
