Teen's plea to find mum after being abandoned at hospital hours after birth

A teenage girl who was abandoned as a baby in hospital just hours after birth wants to find her mum.

Jessica Boatwright, 14, told the Nine Network’s A Current Affair she held no grudges and wanted to find her birth mum after she was left at Liverpool Hospital in Sydney’s west in 2005.

The teenager has not seen or spoken to her mother since and does not know who she is.

CCTV, which was seen by Jessica for the first time, shows the 14-year-old’s mum wearing pyjamas and walking into the hospital’s emergency department eight hours after giving birth about 1.37am with the newborn wrapped in a towel.

Jessica’s birth mum speaks to a person behind the counter, gives the name Pom Bounsone and checks into a room, but about six hours later she leaves without Jessica.

It led to a five-month search to find Jessica’s mum, but police believed she gave a fake name.

Jessica was adopted by Brad and Anna Boatwright who the teenager says are “the best parents ever”.

But 14 years on, she still wants to meet her birth mum and said “it’s not her fault”.

“I want to give her a big hug,” Jessica told A Current Affair.

“I want her to know… not to feel terrible and not to feel guilty in any way.

“I love you even though I’ve never met you. Just be brave and come forward.”

Her adopted parents added it was important Jessica knew her heritage and would also welcome meeting her biological mother.
