Target recalls popular lollies that may contain plastic

Target has recalled popular lollies with fears they may be contaminated with pieces of plastic.

The chain warned that 40 gram candy canes from ‘The Fabulous Food Company’ may be contaminated with the ‘potential presence of plastic.’

Target has warned the candy canes may cause injury if consumed.

“Food products containing foreign materials may cause illness/injury if consumed,” Target said in a food safety recall notice.

The recall affects candy canes sold at Target and Target Country between September 16 and December 17, 2018 with the best before date of August 1, 2019. The product keycode is 59595465.

“Do not consume this product,” Product Safety Australia warned in a recall notice on Monday.

“Consumers should immediately return this product to a Target or Target Country store as soon as possible for a full refund.

“A receipt is not required to obtain a refund.”
