Snake handler's warning after woman finds python in unusual spot
A snake catcher who pulled a python out of a toilet has warned others to always look before you sit after one Cairns resident encountered a slithery surprise when she went to the loo.
David Walton, who runs Cairns Snake Removals in North Queensland, shared photographs on Sunday of a 1.2-metre python squeezing through a toilet bowl.
While posting the skin-crawling images of the reptilian intruder curled up around the toilet bowl and bathroom pipes, Mr Walton warned to people to “always check before you sit down”.
He said North Queensland’s current dry season was the prime time for snakes to seek out water and make their way into residential toilets, laundries and bathrooms.

Mr Walton believes the serpent slithered into the bathroom through the pipes, seeking water.
Despite the snake being 1.2-metres long, the catcher said it was a juvenile water python, which was small compared to the 3.5 metres they can grow to in the wild.
Many who have seen the pictures on Facebook have said catching a snake on the dunny would be the stuff of nightmares.
“OMG that would be my worst nightmare (sic),” one wrote.
Another agreed: “OMG that is heart attack worthy!! (sic)”
