Coles customer enraged after spotting small detail on orange juice
A Coles shopper has hit out at the supermarket giant after noticing a small detail on a bottle of Golden Circle orange juice.
Amid the produce shortages and rising grocery prices, Australian shoppers are becoming increasingly frustrated by supermarket price hikes and are sharing their thoughts online.
The shopper compared two versions of 2L juice side-by-side, and while they were the same size bottle, there was a very noticeable price difference.
The regular Golden Circle Orange Juice was priced at $4.80, while the other, which has 50 per cent less sugar, was 30c more at $5.10.
'Paying more for less'
Clearly curious, the shopper compared the label and the ingredients list and was surprised by what they found.
"Whoever thought this marketing idea up needs a raise! 30c more for 50% less.... juice," they wrote on Reddit alongside a side-by-side photo of the two.
The Coles shopper also shared a photo of the ingredients list for each.

The regular Golden Circle Orange Juice is made up of 99.9% "reconstructed orange juice."
While the other consists of half that, and a large portion of water.
"You're paying more for the 50% water added," he said in the comments, arguing it's pretty expensive.
Others took aim at the sneaky marketing ploy which makes shoppers think they're "being healthier" but actually they're just getting less juice.
"50% less sugar because it is 50% less juice. But it looks better to say less sugar," one pointed out.
"So they are literally giving you half the core product and charging more for it," agreed another.
'Double your product'
Some suggested ways to get the same product but for cheaper by diluting it yourself at home.
"So buy the full juice one, pour half out and fill it back up with water. You've doubled your product," one said
"I usually dilute my juice to make it less sweet anyway," said another.
Others made some of their own observations which they thought could explain the price.
"It might affect shelf life too. Sugar is used for preservation of course," one said.
"The orange drink has less reconstituted juice but more additives, so that may affect the price," said another.
Woolworths also sells both Golden Circle products for the same price as Coles.
Yahoo News Australia contacted Coles for comment.
