Silverback gorilla photobombs visitor's selfie in vicious enclosure attack
A silverback gorilla has been caught on camera photobombing a visitor's 'selfie' by trying to smash through the glass enclosure at a US zoo.
The 180-kilogram primate is named Kijito and is believed to be the same gorilla who broke the glass last at Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, Nebraska last April, according to Omaha.com
In the incredible video, a man can be seen posing for a photo behind a window in his zoo enclosure as Kijito eyes him off in the background.
The monstrous gorilla launches himself off a rock, catapults himself through the air and beats his chest in a photo-bomb fashion.
Kijito crash-lands into the glass and the man recording the incident doesn't flinch.
The encounter was reportedly filmed last week by Amanda Briggs, who said the gorilla is "quite the character and plays with us whenever we go to the zoo".
Male silverback gorillas can grow up to 1.8 metres in height and can weigh up to 226 kilograms, according to the World Animal Foundation.
Gorillas that are used for entertainment spend their lives imprisoned in enclosures and it is not the first time this silverback has lashed out.
