'Decaying': Shopper 'super disappointed' by produce in Woolworths online order

A woman is “super disappointed” with the quality of the Woolworths fruit and vegetables she purchased through the supermarket’s Pick Up service.

Woolworths suspended its Pick Up services in March due to coronavirus but they’re now back up and running again.

However, one woman clearly isn’t happy with her recent order.

“I’m super disappointed in the quality of produce in my click and collect (Pick up) order,” she wrote on Facebook.

“My grapes are brown and soggy, watermelon is already decaying and one of my broccoli is clearly in a sad state. This isn’t the first time.”

She included photos of her fruit and vegetables.

Since she used the Pick up service, which allows shoppers to select groceries online and then pick them up, it’s unlikely she saw the condition of her food items until she brought them home.

Yahoo News Australia contacted Woolworths for comment and the supermarket referred to its response on Facebook.

“We're sorry to see the quality of the grapes, watermelon and broccoli you received in your pick up order,” Woolworths wrote.

“This is below our usual high standards and we'd like to organise a refund for these items.”

Woolworths also has a fresh or free guarantee.

It means anyone who’s not happy with fresh food purchased online or in-store can have it replaced.

It includes any unpackaged products from Woolies’ fresh departments and any packaged items marked with the fresh or free symbol.

However, some exclusions may apply.
